Ánxelo Maia is one of the conductors of his generation with the greatest projection.
His solid academic training, combined with his innate musical talent and personality, has enabled him to consolidate his artistic profile within some of the most relevant institutions on the international scene, under the guidance of masters such as Jordi Mora and Peter Dijkstra.
In his work with the orchestra, Ánxelo tirelessly seeks phrasing, sonic balance, and ultimately all those details that give meaning to the overall structure of the score.
He is convinced that “making Music” is by no means something arbitrary, but rather something discoverable solely through the lived experience of it.
Ánxelo’s path stands out for an exceptionally broad and rigorous formation.
A qualified pianist and cellist, orchestral and choral conductor, and medical doctor with a PhD, he developed both trajectories in Barcelona and Germany.
Music has always been his central axis: he is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Orchestral Conducting at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg.
